WASHINGTON DC- Tuesday May 30th, 2017-The Zambian Embassy in Washington D.C has refuted online media reports suggesting that United States President, Donald Trump has signed an executive order to allow all Zambian nationals travel to the United States without visas.
Zambia’s Charge´ D’Affaires to the USA Joseph Chilaizya says the Department of State in Washington DC has not communicated such information the Zambian Embassy.

The Government of the Republic of Zambia Is requesting Zambian nationals who are in the United States for a short visit or studies and are non-permanent residents but have had flights rescheduled or cancelled owing to the evolving COVID-19 situation to submit their names to the Embassy of Zambia in Washington D.C., with passport details, address and contact phone number in the United States. This information will assist in making repatriation arrangements back to Zambia.

Government To Pilot A Children First Software (CFS) Application

The Government has started piloting a Children First Software (CFS) application that will provide a database of the vulnerable people in the country in order for them to receive support from their households as opposed to being institutionalised in centers. Minister of Community Development and Social Services Emerine Kabanshi says the Government will next year implement the CFS program and share it with other regional countries in an effort to end institutionalisation of the underprivileged people in communities and children on the streets.

The Zambian Embassy in Washington D.C has started processing applications for Dual Citizenship for Zambians living in the United States of America. Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Dr. Ngosa Simbyakula S.C., made the announcement at the launch of the Association of Zambians in Dallas and Fort-Worth Texas. Dr. Simbyakula said the Embassy has received Bestowal of Citizenship application forms (Form VII) from Lusaka to facilitate restoration of Citizenship for citizens who lost their Zambian citizenship upon acquisition of citizenship of another country.
