Procedures for Acquiring National Documents
For Zambians in the USA and countries of extra accreditation (Belize, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama)
Registration of birth is compulsory. Birth Certificates are available to any applicant born on or after March 14, 1973 and can be obtained by the applicant applying to the Office of the Registrar General. Birth Certificates are only issued in Zambia. If a Zambian National was born before 14th March, 1973 – please send an email message to email@example.com for guidance.
Zambian Nationals are encouraged to register births of their children who are born in the USA and countries of extra accreditation. Send an email message to firstname.lastname@example.org.
NATIONAL REGISTRATION CARD (NRC)
A National Registration Card is issued to eligible Zambian nationals aged 16 years and above. NRC can only be applied for and obtained in Zambia, in person.

TRAVEL DOCUMENT OF IDENTITY
The Embassy issues Travel Document of Identity (TDI) to eligible Zambian nationals to travel one way and directly to Zambia in the case of an emergency. For the procedures, refer to Passport Application.
