“Return to Caesar what belongs to Caesar”

Washington D.C., Saturday, 25 September 2021 – President Hakainde Hichilema says the fight against corruption will be so methodical and professional that it will make the vice unattractive. He pledged that those who got what does not belong to them would be made to “return to Caesar, Caesar’s things”.
 
Addressing Zambians living in North America at the Mayflower hotel in Washington DC Saturday night President Hichilema said: “We will have zero tolerance to corruption. The fight against corruption will be done from a professional angle, a legal angle…to recover the assets as much possible so that we can apply those assets’ revenues to benefit owners (people of Zambia) in education, health and investment for women and youths to access.”

He said the corruption fight will not be vindictive or selective.
 
“We will not use a political hand, no vengeance, no retribution but the right institutions will do it professionally, he said. He decried corruption as a cancer that must be rooted out stressing that it would be made such an unattractive risk for anyone who might contemplate it.
 
He advised Zambians in the diaspora to take time to revisit his speech at the official opening of the first session of the 13th national assembly to have a full grasp of the New Dawn administration’s commitment to root out corruption and move Zambia forward.
 
He said no effort will be spared to fight the vice and recover everything stolen from the people of Zambia.
