2012 Africa Cup of Nations Final: Zambia are the champions of Africa. Unfancied Zambia have won the Africa Cup of Nations after a penalty shootout victory over the Ivory Coast in Libreville, Gabon. Didier Drogba could have won the game for the Elephants in normal time had he not blazed over a penalty awarded for a foul on Gervinho. Gervinho then turned villain as he and Kolo Toure both missed in a dramatic shoot out that went to sudden death.
