COVID-19 Pandemic Notice No. 6, Thursday, 23 April 2020
This serves to inform Zambian nationals and clients in the United States of America (USA) and countries of extra accreditation that Government will facilitate repatriation but NOT pay for transportation back to Lusaka for all nationals planning to travel back home.
The Mission in Washington D.C. will upon requests from our nationals seeking to return home, engage and negotiate with air charters and airlines to facilitate passage for Zambians who will however be required to cover the full cost of the negotiated flights. Students are particularly urged to contact their parents should they plan to travel.
Further, all returning residents and foreigners traveling to Zambia shall, upon arrival, undergo mandatory quarantine for a period of not less than 14 days at a government designated institution or any other designated facility at their own cost.
The designated quarantine places in Zambia are hotels and Government Lodges. All those traveling to Lusaka would be advised of the available hotels and the cost. Those who are unable to pay for the hotels and lodges would be taken to free Government facilities which are mainly hospitals.
Foreign Diplomats would be upon arrival required to be on self-quarantine.
All issuance of visas including Diplomatic visas remains suspended.
