February 12, 2014 - Agriculture and Livestock Minister Robert Sichinga, has called foreign investment into the agricultural sector saying the country is open to lease land in the various farming blocks in the country.

A delegation from the Copperbelt University in Kitwe, Zambia paid a courtesy call at the Zambia Embassy in Washington, DC.
The delegation is in the United States for a series of meetings with partner academic and research institutions with whom they collaborate with and to establish new links.

They also met with members of the Copperbelt University Alumni based in the USA.

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has commended Zambia’s efforts in fostering peace and security in the region. Mr. Tillerson has also hailed Zambia’s democratic credentials which have been witnessed smooth transitions resulting in the country’s vision for achieving broad economic growth. In his congratulatory message of Zambia’s 53rd Independence Day Celebrations, Mr. Tillerson says over the last 53 years, Zambia has continued with its development as a nation that shares many common values and interests with the United States.

The Mission wishes to draw your attention to the USAID Development Innovation Ventures (DIV) programme which is a USAID open innovation fund that invests in breakthrough solutions to some of the world’s toughest development challenges. DIV provides flexible grant funding to test new ideas, build evidence of what works, and solutions that could impact millions of lives at a fraction of the usual costs. The window for the annual USAID - DIV grant opened in November, 2021 and closes in October, 2022.

It is a river that changes course with ease, leaving a trail of oxbow lakes and watering holes across a wilderness now known as South Luangwa National Park.
