Washington D.C., Thursday, 22 October 2020 — The United States says it is proud to stand with Zambia and 31 other countries that have co-sponsored and signed up to the Geneva Consensus Declaration, a global initiative that Secretary of State Michael Pompeo said had thrust focus on better health for women, preservation of life, family and emphasized national sovereignty over legislation.

The Zambian Mission in the U.S. over the weekend joined forces with Zambians in Chicago to market its tourism potential to Over 30,000 attendees comprising of tour operators, travel agents and potential tourists at the 2018 Chicago Travel and Adventure Show. Washington D.C., Thursday September 12, 2019 – Founder and President of Lubuto Library Partners Jane Meyers paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Dr. Ngosa Simbyakula to brief him about the activities of Lubuto in Zambia. She was accompanied by her husband Kenneth Meyers – former IMF Country Representative to Zambia (1998-2001).

The Mission wishes to draw your attention to the USAID Development Innovation Ventures (DIV) programme which is a USAID open innovation fund that invests in breakthrough solutions to some of the world’s toughest development challenges. DIV provides flexible grant funding to test new ideas, build evidence of what works, and solutions that could impact millions of lives at a fraction of the usual costs. The window for the annual USAID - DIV grant opened in November, 2021 and closes in October, 2022.

April 10, 2014 - Zambia's Ambassador to the United States, Palan Mulonda has called for an urgent gaps analysis on the needs for human capital infrastructure development in higher education.

The Zambian Embassy in Washington D.C. is advising its nationals in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Maryland, to be on alert and monitor information on the impending Hurricane Florence expected to hit the regions soon.

The Embassy staff will, effective March 30, 2020, be performing their duties remotely via telework arrangements as a mitigation response to the spread of the coronavirus. In view of the foregoing, all in-person interviews will be suspended until further notice.
