Microscopic view of the SARS-CoV-2 virus which causes Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

This serves to inform Zambian nationals and clients in the United States of America (USA) and countries of extra accreditation that the partial closure of the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia in Washington D.C. has been extended to April 30, 2020 owing to the evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the U.S.A.

The Embassy has with immediate effect also suspended the issuance of Visas.

Anyone seeking a Visa for travel deemed to be essential should submit their application to the Lusaka immigration authorities, with justification, for consideration.

Further, all returning residents and foreigners traveling to Zambia shall, upon arrival, undergo mandatory quarantine for a period of not less than 14 days at a government designated institution or facility at their own cost.

The Embassy shall continue to review the situation as deemed necessary.
