Bank of Zambia Governor named Central Bank Governor of the year.
Bank of Zambia Governor, Dr Michael Gondwe has been awarded the prestigious award of Central Bank Governor of the year at the Africa Investments and Business Forum Awards.
Dr Gondwe who was among several business leaders was given the award at the Africa Investor (AI) Investment Summit held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Washington DC. Nigerian Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala received the Finance Minister of the year award.
Speaking when he received the Award Dr Gondwe, said he was humbled to receive the award adding that his success was as a result of a hardworking and competent team at the Bank of Zambia.
Zambia’s Ambassador to the United States Palan Mulonda also attended the awards ceremony.
And a Zambian Entrepreneur and founder of Java foods, Monica Musonda received the Africa’s leading Woman in Business Award.
Ms. Musonda was picked from a list of eight other contenders from Angola, Nigeria and South Africa.
