On 4th March, 2014, His Excellency Palan Mulonda was featured on a television program titled “Focus on Washington” to discuss Zambia’s 50th independence, which falls on 24th October, 2014.

The Embassy of Zambia in Washington D.C has successfully participated in three largest annual travel and adventure tourism shows in the United States of America. Zambia’s Ambassador to the U.S His Excellency Dr Ngosa Simbyakula S.C. says the Mission’s active participation in the shows has raised Zambia’s tourism profile to over 100,000 U.S. travel agents, tour operators and potential tourists who visited the country’s stand at the Travel and Adventure shows that have been held in Washington, Chicago and Los Angeles.

The African Union Mission in the United States of America has launched a Radio Station for the African
Ambassadors Group (AAG) in Washington D.C.

Washington D.C., Wednesday 22 September 2021 – President Hakainde Hichilema Wednesday met with Vice President Kamala Harris at the White House as Zambia and the United States of America exchanged strong commitments to further the abiding ties between the two countries and to further strengthen democracy.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary Mr. Chalwe Lombe says government recognizes the diaspora as key stakeholders in the country’s development.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in the process of formulating a Diaspora Policy. As part of the policy formulation process, the Ministry has developed a Diaspora Survey.

Zambia’s Ambassador to the U.S Dr. Ngosa Simbyakula has urged U.S Zambian Associations to work closely with the Embassy in Washington D.C to enhance the welfare of Zambians living in the United States of America. Dr. Simbyakula says Embassies are not only established to maintain and foster bilateral relations but also to promote and protect the interests of its nationals in their host countries.
