Zambia’s Ambassador to the U.S. Dr. Ngosa Simbyakula, S.C., says Zambia supports the African Union’s stance to harness the efforts of people of African descent all over the world to invest in African countries. The Mission wishes to draw your attention to the USAID Development Innovation Ventures (DIV) programme which is a USAID open innovation fund that invests in breakthrough solutions to some of the world’s toughest development challenges. DIV provides flexible grant funding to test new ideas, build evidence of what works, and solutions that could impact millions of lives at a fraction of the usual costs. The window for the annual USAID - DIV grant opened in November, 2021 and closes in October, 2022.

Washington D.C., Friday, 10 April 2020 – The IMF and World Bank have called for a halt to debt servicing for the world’s poorest countries as the World Bank Group latest report revealed that sub-Saharan Africa was going into recession with initially projected 2020 growth adversely affected by the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak.

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has commended Zambia’s efforts in fostering peace and security in the region. Mr. Tillerson has also hailed Zambia’s democratic credentials which have been witnessed smooth transitions resulting in the country’s vision for achieving broad economic growth. In his congratulatory message of Zambia’s 53rd Independence Day Celebrations, Mr. Tillerson says over the last 53 years, Zambia has continued with its development as a nation that shares many common values and interests with the United States.

October 10th, 2014 - Bank of Zambia Governor, Dr Michael Gondwe has been awarded the prestigious award of Central Bank Governor of the year at the Africa Investments and Business Forum Awards.
