A delegation from the Copperbelt University in Kitwe, Zambia paid a courtesy call at the Zambia Embassy in Washington, DC.
The delegation is in the United States for a series of meetings with partner academic and research institutions with whom they collaborate with and to establish new links.

They also met with members of the Copperbelt University Alumni based in the USA.

Zambia received an early Christmas present when it was declared a yellow fever-free zone by the World Health Organization (WHO) in the run up to the end of year festivities.

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has commended Zambia’s efforts in fostering peace and security in the region. Mr. Tillerson has also hailed Zambia’s democratic credentials which have been witnessed smooth transitions resulting in the country’s vision for achieving broad economic growth. In his congratulatory message of Zambia’s 53rd Independence Day Celebrations, Mr. Tillerson says over the last 53 years, Zambia has continued with its development as a nation that shares many common values and interests with the United States.

WASHINGTON DC- THURSDAY, August 2, 2018 – Zambia’s Ambassador to the United States of America His Excellency Dr. Ngosa Simbyakula has hailed the U.S government for empowering leadership among the young people through programmes such as the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders (YALI).

The Mission wishes to draw your attention to the USAID Development Innovation Ventures (DIV) programme which is a USAID open innovation fund that invests in breakthrough solutions to some of the world’s toughest development challenges. DIV provides flexible grant funding to test new ideas, build evidence of what works, and solutions that could impact millions of lives at a fraction of the usual costs. The window for the annual USAID - DIV grant opened in November, 2021 and closes in October, 2022.

Zambia is commonly regarded as one of the most beautiful, friendly, diverse and unspoiled countries on the entire African continent.

Zambia’s Ambassador to the US His Excellency Dr. Ngosa Simbyakula says he will priorities raising of Zambia’s economic profile in order to attract more foreign investment in the country. The Ambassador said said this when Executive Vice-President of Walmart for Africa, India and Latin America Mr. Enrique Ostale called on him at the Embassy of Zambia in Washington D.C.
