Zambia’s Ambassador to the USA Palan Mulonda has commended Zambian Gemstone Jeweler Rashmi Sharma for placing Zambia on the international map through marketing Zambian gemstones in the United States.

Ambassador Mulonda observed that Zambia gemstones were known, appreciated and sought after through roadshows such as the one being held in various states in the US.

USA Increases Financial Support to Zambia, Provides US$1.87 Million COVID-19 Financing

Washington D.C., Wednesday, 1 April 2020 – The United States is providing Zambia $1.87 million in immediate health assistance, funding which will augment Government interventions against the COVID-19 pandemic. The funding is a huge boost to the country’s COVID-19 response and will scale up programs and projects in risk communication, water and sanitation, infection prevention and control and public health messaging.

Government To Pilot A Children First Software (CFS) Application

The Government has started piloting a Children First Software (CFS) application that will provide a database of the vulnerable people in the country in order for them to receive support from their households as opposed to being institutionalised in centers. Minister of Community Development and Social Services Emerine Kabanshi says the Government will next year implement the CFS program and share it with other regional countries in an effort to end institutionalisation of the underprivileged people in communities and children on the streets.
