WASHINGTON, DC., Zambia’s Ambassador to the United States Mr. Chibamba Kanyama, says there is need to recognize the challenges Zambia is facing in trying to revitalize its economy.

The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA), led by the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia, Washington DC, had meetings with the Office of the Mayor, Los Angeles, the business community and the LA Chamber of Commerce on 27 and 28 September 2023.

The meeting at the Mayor's office which was led by the Deputy Mayor International Affairs, Erin Bromaghim brought together stakeholders from the U.S. Department of Commerce, a Venture Capital firm, the Chairperson of the LA Lusaka sister company committee, and officials from the LA city department of International Affairs, amongst others.

PRESIDENT HAKAINDE HICHILEMA TO BE REPRESENTED BY MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AT THE 78TH SESSION OF THE UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN NEW YORK

The President of the Republic of Zambia, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema will be represented by Hon. Stanley K. Kakubo, M.P, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation at the 78th Session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly which is taking place from 18th to 26th September, 2023 in New York.

WASHINGTON, D.C., 4th July 2023 – His Excellency Mr. Chibamba F. Kanyama has presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency Mr. Joseph Biden Jr., President of the United States of America formally accrediting him as Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Zambia to the United States.

“It is a great honour for me to welcome you to Zambia and indeed to Day 2 of the Summit for Democracy. ... We stand here on the cusp of something great, as Zambia co-hosts the 2023 Summit for Democracy, a journey that began in Washington D.C., where the idea was first mooted, spreading its wings all the way to Africa and the rest of the world...”

The Expo is an initiative of the Western Provincial Administration designed to provide a framework and showcase of opportunities for investment to spur economic development, encourage entrepreneurship, value addition and trade in the Province to achieve sustainable development and inclusive growth.

The Government of the Republic of Zambia through the Lusaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry on behalf of the business community in Lusaka will be hosting a Business Indaba and Expo under the theme “Creating Opportunities to Access Finance and Markets Linkages” on the 27th May, 2022.

The Objective of the Indaba and Expo is to explore avenues and unveil opportunities through which business entities and potential investors can benefit from knowledge gained on how to access finance and new and existing markets in Lusaka.

Washington D.C., Wednesday 22 September 2021 – President Hakainde Hichilema Wednesday met with Vice President Kamala Harris at the White House as Zambia and the United States of America exchanged strong commitments to further the abiding ties between the two countries and to further strengthen democracy.
